Dr. Sharon Powell

From Hardship to Leadership
Dr. Sharon Powell’s journey is a testimony to perseverance, faith, education, service, and purpose. Growing up in the mountains of West Virginia taught her lessons that could never have been learned from a textbook alone. Challenges became classrooms. Adversity became a teacher. Faith became an anchor.
Those experiences helped shape a lifelong commitment to helping others discover what is possible when someone believes in them.
Dr. Powell earned her Doctor of Education in Special Education after years of service in education and leadership. Her professional journey has included experience as an educator, Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, minister, pastor, author, speaker, and educational leader.
Throughout her career, she has remained committed to improving student outcomes while recognizing that achievement cannot be separated from relationships, belonging, attendance, family engagement, and effective leadership.

Her philosophy is simple: Before we can change organizations, we must be willing to change lives.

Today, Dr. Powell brings her professional knowledge and personal experiences together through consulting, professional development, leadership coaching, speaking, and writing.
